Is your lab developing the next great innovation to solve an unmet need? Are you curious about how to create a start-up? Brown Technology Innovations invites you to Faculty Entrepreneur Connect, an in-person monthly gathering for faculty inventors, postdocs and graduate students to meet and network with other entrepreneurially-minded researchers at Brown. If you have started a company, are thinking about starting a company, or just want to learn about entrepreneurship at Brown, we encourage you to attend!
There are hundreds of programs available to help you refine and accelerate your startup idea. These programs are often termed incubators, accelerators, or venture studios. Each program is slightly different in terms of its focus, cost, time commitment, and potential outcome.
The third Faculty Entrepreneur Connect meeting of 2025 is titled, “From Idea to Startup: Leveraging Incubator and Accelerator Programs” and will feature a discussion on these types of programs and give some guidance on how to evaluate the right one(s) for your venture. You’ll hear from Stephanie Jones, PhD, Professor of Neuroscience, and David Zhou, PhD, postdoctoral researcher in Stephanie’s lab, on their experiences with programs including MIT Faculty Founders, Equalize, I-Corps, Blueprint, and Nucleate.
Faculty Entrepreneur Connect is brought to you by Brown Technology Innovations, Advance RI-CTR, The Nelson Center for Entrepreneurship.
