Interested in giving back your time to the entrepreneurial community on College Hill? We work closely with alumni, local entrepreneurs, and visiting professionals who volunteer their time to share their entrepreneurial journey or work one on one with aspiring entrepreneurs.

Mentoring is an integral part of an entrepreneur’s journey. We aim to match students working on early-stage ideas to ventures raising capital, with individuals who have essential startup experience, from industry experts to lawyers.

If you have limited bandwidth, but would like to give back your time in some way, visitors offer one time or semi-reoccurring office hours or visit and host a roundtable discussion. If you are interested in hosting office hours or a roundtable discussion, email Abi Durmaz at

Through the Nelson Center, we connect mentors, like yourself, with student entrepreneurs involved in our programs, such as our:

• Explore and Expand Grants recipients
• Breakthrough Lab (B-Lab) Summer Accelerator
• Innovation Dojo
• Women Empowerment Incubator (WE@Brown)
• The Brown Venture Prize

Mentoring is a rewarding experience and a way to give back your time and expertise to help mold the next generation of entrepreneurs. The time commitment varies for mentors, depending on the program, though we work hard to facilitate matches that will accommodate a variety of schedules and availability.
