Recognized as a Time Warner and Essence Magazine Power Leader in the African-American community, Cheryl is a strong advocate for women and minorities. A graduate of the National Urban Fellows’ 2012 America’s Leaders of Change program. this award-winning communications and marketing strategist loves to tell stories that make people feel good about where they are, and better about where they are going. Cheryl has made significant strides both as a C-suite executive and entrepreneur working in the pharmaceutical, educational, retail, telecommunications, manufacturing, nonprofit and media industries with iconic companies such as AT&T, Girls Scouts of the USA, and Nike. At Nike she designed corporate responsibility programs in the U.S. and abroad and in one year, launched new products, generating approximately $320 million in revenue.
A frequent keynote speaker and guest lecturer, Cheryl recently participated in a Newark Tech Talks Symposium about Women in Technology. She shared that “At Impact, we spend our energies making sure that the stories about … women in tech are shared and are known. Our work, in general, is aimed at Latinos, Asians, African Americans, and millennials, but women are our primary target … The goal is to make sure that there are opportunities and conversations being had so that the public gets the information they need to make educated and intelligent decisions regarding women and girls, both as consumers and as leaders.”
Cheryl completed her undergraduate studies at Brown in the Business, Entrepreneurship, and Organizations program and later received a Master of Science degree from The Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and a Master of Arts degree in Project Management from George Washington University. She is also a Rutgers Business School Fellow and is very active in her community and her church.
