Peter J. Eliopoulos served as a Senior Vice President and Advisor at M&T Bank Corporation after more than 12 years, leading all marketing efforts for both M&T Bank and Wilmington Trust as Chief Marketing Officer. During that time, he led the organization on a 5-year data transformation journey and built the Office of the Customer Advocate – a unique enterprise-wide customer experience department built upon feedback directly from clients to the bank through multiple channels.
With more than 30 years of experience leading teams in consulting, banking, advertising/media, digital & direct marketing, customer segmentation and analytics, Eliopoulos oversaw M&T Bank’s customer data infrastructure and analytics platforms including a critical undertaking to move from multiple legacy platforms towards an integrated “360 view” of clients across all lines of the banks’ businesses, as well as the Communication department and the Office of the Customer Advocate. He is passionate about the ways in which successful organizations – both for profit and nonprofit – build out capabilities that connect to customers’ needs in experiences that are relevant and elegant.
Eliopoulos holds an MBA from the NYU Stern School of Business and ESADE in Spain, and a bachelor’s degree in comparative literature from Brown University. He has also completed the two-year program in Organizations & Group Development at the William Alanson White Institute In New York City. He is deeply engaged in work with Learning as Leadership (LAL) in San Francisco, CA.
