Founded in 2017 by Jessica Kim ’00, ianacare (“iana” stands for “I am not alone”)  is a tech-enabled support and navigation platform that consolidates and streamlines resources to encourage, empower, and equip family caregivers. Inspired by Kim’s own struggles with caring for her mother, the B2C and B2B2C company focuses on providing practical assistance and resources for non-clinical support in the home relieving financial and emotional burdens of caretaking. The company raised $12.1M in funding in 2022 and became a partner with AARP’s Care Connect platform allowing its users to access the ianacare platform via AARP.

Kim was a 2018-2019 Nelson Center Entrepreneur in Residence and taught the Entrepreneurship Practicum ENGN 1931T in the Spring of 2023.
