Alexis Alston ’17

Adjunct Assistant Professor of the Practice and B-Lab Director

Alexis Alston, BEO ’17, is a seasoned investor, startup advocate, and tech evangelist. She began her career at a $3Bn AUM fund, Advantage Capital, investing in growing CPG brands, AI, and healthtech companies, including Grainful, and Recursion Pharmaceuticals (IPO: RXRX). She is a General Partner at Lightship Capital, a $50M fund dedicated to investing in overlooked founders, where she leads the investment team. 

Most recently, she was awarded the designation of Forbes 30 Under 30 for Venture Capital. In addition, she is the Director of Revenue at Lightship Foundation, where she forges Fortune 500 partnerships with the organization and leads curation for notable conferences such as Black Tech Week, raising millions of dollars for the organization annually.

In her spare time, Alexis serves on the board of AllRaise, Miami Chapter. In addition, Alexis serves on the Entrepreneurial Council, an advisory board at Target Corporation, where she collaborates with Target to launch new programs towards their $2Bn commitment to working with Black brands.
