Entrepreneurship Panel: Daria Anaya & Evan Zhu, Co-Founders of Pupil

Join Latinx Student Union, Latine Students in Business, and the Nelson Center for Entrepreneurship for a dinner & conversation with Dario Anaya and Evan Zhu’s entrepreneurship journey as co-founders of Pupil, an EdTech startup leveraging technology to connect high school students with university mentors and expand access to higher education.

We’ll kick things off with dinner and mingling followed by an engaging panel with Dario and Evan. Moderators and audience members will have the chance to ask questions and spark meaningful discussions. The attire for the event is business casual – we can’t wait to see you there!

About Dario Anaya

A first-generation Latino of Puerto Rican & Mexican heritage from the Chicago area, he studies Economics, Technology, and Philosophy at NYU. He is a co-founder of Pupil. Recognized on Inicio Ventures’ Top 100 Latinx Founders to Watch List, the Latinx Campus Fund Awardee (2022), and Life-Changing Labs’ 22 Under 22 List, he is also a guest speaker, judge, and mentor at Yale, Columbia, UPenn, NYU, and more. Passionate about Latinx empowerment and education access, he co-founded a free data science boot camp with Harvard faculty, teaching 200 students and saving over $1M in pre-college costs. He has worked on investment teams at L’ATTITUDE Ventures ($100M+ fund) and Lightbank ($290M fund, $700M AUM) and analyzed funding strategies at MIT Sloan. An alumnus of the Hispanic Heritage Foundation and Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute programs, he now serves as an NYU College Access Ambassador, mentoring students through Pupil. 

About Evan Zhu

A first-generation Chinese-American from the Greater Boston area, he studies Mathematics and Economics at NYU. As the co-founder of Pupil, he leads product development while also overseeing financials, strategy, and sales. With a strong research background, he has worked at Mass General Brigham, conducting DNA sequencing analysis and managing a $100M budget for the Brigham Biobank Genomics Core. At Boston University, he developed computational tools to improve efficiency in Alzheimer’s research. Passionate about data-driven models and financial analysis, he has worked i risk management at ING financial Services and was selected as a Portfolio Management Summer Analyst at BlackRock, focusing on fixed income and macroeconomic research. While his finance and research expertise drive his leadership at Pupil, his proudest work is mentoring students.
