Join us for our first Founder Fridays of the semester with Cliff Weitzman ’16, a former Peer Entrepreneur In Residence at the Nelson Center, and now the founder of Speechify (https://getspeechify.com). Speechify is used in thousands of schools around the world by auditory learners who prefer to scan a book with their phone and listen, instead of sitting and reading.
Before Speechify, Cliff founded Brown’s Renewable Energy Engineering concentration and won MIT’s and Stanford’s Startup Competition’s with products ranging from 3D printed longboards brakes, to Biotech supplements, iPhone apps, and labor distribution websites.
How does Cliff pick what ideas might work and gain the confidence to say “no”? Cliff applies a strong philosophical framework for decision making developed from classes he took at brown, and the 100+ books he reads every year. We are excited to learn more from his strategies for creating value in the world.
Kabob for lunch!
