Michael has an extensive background in venture capital where he has been an active early-stage investor investing in over 160 early-stage startups. Notable investments include Robinhood, Zapier, Rescale, Policy Genius, FLYR, PayStand, Mesh, TrueAccord, Swan Bitcoin, Ripio, and Carbon Health. Recent investments have focused on AI including ThirdEar AI, MinervaCQ, Ferveret, and Recursal AI.
Michael also actively advises numerous startups and also has advisory roles at Intel and Microsoft.
Previously, Michael was President at Chooch focusing on strategy, GTM and enterprise partnerships. He joined Chooch from Citi Private Bank serving family offices in the Bay Area. Prior to his role at Citi, Michael founded Anvil Capital Advisors and spent 18 years at Goldman Sachs as a managing director overseeing several business units both in New York and San Francisco.
Upon graduation, he started his career at Bell Laboratories Research. Michael holds an MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business, a MS from Columbia University’s School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, and a BS from Brown University. He is an avid long-distance athlete having completed numerous marathons and triathlons.
