OUR KEYNOTE SPEAKER
ANNA FIELER ’95, CHIEF MARKETING OFFICER, POPSUGAR

Anna is the CMO of POPSUGAR Inc where she oversees marketing for the #1 lifestyle media company for young women that is attracting a global audience of 300M through content and commerce.  Her track record includes serving as the CMO of Stella & Dot to help reinvent the direct-selling industry for the digital age, leading marketing at Tiny Prints where she grew the brand from a niche player to a category leader resulting in a successful exit via acquisition by Shutterfly Inc, and taking leadership roles at eBay where she had long tenure during the company’s hyper-growth era. Prior to a career in Silicon Valley, Anna began her career on Madison Ave, notably at Ogilvy & Mather where she helped develop the foundation for Dove’s ground-breaking “Real Women, Real Beauty” campaign.  She is also a board member Girls Leadership and board advisor at NatureBox. Anna holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and graduated magna cum laude from Brown University.

OPENING REMARKS BY
CHRISTINA PAXSON, PRESIDENT OF BROWN UNIVERSITY

Christina Paxson is the nineteenth president of Brown University and Professor of Economics and Public Policy. President Paxson worked with students, faculty, and staff to develop Building on Distinction – a 10-year strategic plan launched in 2014 that is shaping the growth and progress of a University committed to addressing the defining challenges of the 21st century. Key priorities of her presidency include cultivating collaboration and entrepreneurship among teacher-scholars and students, creating engaged learning programs that integrate teaching with community-based research and real-world experiences, and expanding financial aid. In the fourth year of her presidency, President Paxson led a campus-wide effort to create more just, diverse, and inclusive communities in support of Brown’s mission, releasing Pathways to Diversity and Inclusion: An Action Plan for Brown University in February 2016. A nationally recognized leader in higher education, respected economist and public health expert, President Paxson is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. President Paxson is a 1982 honors graduate of Swarthmore College, and earned her graduate degrees in economics at Columbia University (M.A., 1985; Ph.D., 1987).

CLOSING REMARKS BY
CHERIE AIMEE, INFLUENCER

Cherie Aimee is a tech leader and near-death survivor whose story of resilience impacts millions. The former tech CEO died seven years ago due to heart failure, and doctors were unable to resuscitate her for over 90 minutes. Now serving as VP of Community Management at blockchain startup ShipChain, Cherie has helped build the largest and fastest growing ICO community. A champion of innovation, Cherie is co-leading the disruption of the 8 trillion dollar freight and logistics industry, and has been a key component in Shipchain’s $30MM in raised funding and recent ICO sellout. As a near-death survivor, coma survivor, and heart transplant recipient, Cherie is honored to sit on the Executive Advisory Council for the board of Directors at Columbia University Medical Center. Featured in Forbes, Influencive, and the Dr.Oz show, she now travels the world speaking about resilience, innovation, community building, and living from the heart.
