Saron is a senior from Ethiopia studying Social Analysis and Research. Saron is passionate about using business to empower lives and create sustainable change. As the 2018 OZY Genius Award recipient, Youth for Africa and SDG award recipient and Global finalist in the Hult International Business Prize Competition, Saron envisions a world where business can be used to reduce socio-economic inequality as opposed to perpetuating it. As a result, Saron founded goTeff, the first mission-led ethical brand for Teff, a super-grain that comes from her home country Ethiopia. goTeff sources Teff from farmers in Ethiopia, sells to western markets and re-invests profits into the Teff farmers in Ethiopia. goTeff’s vision is to provide wholesome nutrition to our end consumers while uplifting farmers of Ethiopia.
