ASAP SYMPOSIUM 2019: Bottom-up Research Workshop

March 14, 2019 @ 12:00 pm - 1:15 pm

“On College Hill (and beyond) exists a thriving community of thinkers, dreamers and do-ers. Passion and creativity are often the impetus driving their work. Lack of time and resources create barriers to seeing and engaging with those right next to us. In our 7th annual symposium, we will bring together those thinkers, dreamers and do-ers working to improve health and wellness through the arts. We know there is so much to share and so much power in collaboration. We invite you to be part of the conversation and to dream of what’s possible when we work together.”  – ASaP

Check out the full symposium lineup!

Professor Danny Warshay, Executive Director of the Nelson Center for Entrepreneurship, will lead a spirited workshop about the most critical skill in entrepreneurship—“bottom-up research.” This is the first step in the three-step Entrepreneurial Process that Danny teaches to aspiring entrepreneurs at Brown and all over the world. As opposed to the myth that entrepreneurs are creative geniuses from birth, The Entrepreneurial Process is a skill set that you can master and apply. This first step of the process—a breakthrough “anthropological” approach—helps entrepreneurs listen and observe to determine what consumers really need, even when consumers themselves do not know.
