SHEILA HAGGERTY

Assistant Director

Sheila, P’19 is passionate about connecting people to purpose. At the Nelson Center, she draws on an extensive professional background in educational and visual art non-profit management to support global entrepreneurship, BEO, and Brown students alike. Prior to joining BEO and the Nelson Center for Entrepreneurship, Sheila was the Department Manager for the Visual Art Department for 6 years. Sheila was a founding parent and the business manager of Quest Montessori School before coming to Brown in 2011.

In addition to her experience in education, she advised artists on their business practices as a Public Art Administrator. She holds a Master’s Degree in Art History and Museum Training from George Washington University, a BA from Murray State University, KY and has held internships at the Corcoran Museum of American Art and at Reynolda House at Wake Forest University. Above all, Sheila is a collaborative leader interested in creating strong internal administrative structures and clear paths for communication. When she’s not in the office, you can find Sheila biking around Rhode Island, spending time with her family or in the midst of a knitting project.
