Rufus Griscom ’91: Office Hours

November 15, 2018 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Rufus Griscom  has built four companies in the last 20 years — first Nerve.com, in 1997, an early youth culture website, acquired by IAC; second Spring Street Networks, an online dating technology company acquired by Various, Inc. in 2005; and third Babble.com, a platform for top mom bloggers, acquired by Disney in 2011. Rufus is currently CEO and co-founder of The Next Big Idea Club, developed in a partnership with Malcom Gladwell, Susan Cain, Daniel Pink and Adam Grant. NBIC (www.nextbigideaclub.com) is backed by Comcast, Bertelsmann, Bloomberg, the New York Times, and Bertelsmann, among other investors.

Rufus was named one of the 50 most powerful men under 38 by Details, and one of Fast Company’s Most Creative People. In his spare time, Rufus gives unsolicited advice to his younger self, builds wood furniture (sort of … he consistently make sawdust), and violates parenting taboos on the TED stage.

Rufus is bursting with advice on how to develop great startup ideas, raise money, build an awesome team, and have a blast building world-changing (or at least village-changing) companies.
