ResusciTech’s app, SMART Certification, offers convenient, smartphone-based CPR training that provides compression practice with real-time feedback. The app launched in 2019. ResusiTech was among a handful of companies selected to pitch to Tim Cook during the Silicon Slopes Summit in Salt Lake City. In February 2021, ResusciTech received a $40,000 grant from the American Heart Association as part of the organization’s accelerator program.

ResusiTech was founded by Abigail Kohler, ’20 and Greg Fine, ’20 and received 3rd place in Brown Venture Prize in 2020. The firm is also a 2019 B-Lab alum. Read their profile in Brown Alumni Magazine.

Vitae Industries

Founded in 2015, Vitae Industries is a pharmaceutical manufacturing company founded by Daniel DiCiccio, ’15. The company utilizes 3D printing technology to streamline and personalize drug manufacturing. Rather than a generic prescription drug, the company’s AutoCompounder allows patients to receive personalized dosages. Since its launch, the company has secured more than $2 million in venture funding.

The venture was a 2015 B-Lab alum and awarded the Manufacturing Awards Emerging Manufacturer by Polaris MEP in 2021.

Zencare

Zencare

Zencare is the simplest way to find your ideal therapist. Proudly founded by a Japanese woman, Zencare is Yuri Tomikawa’s (Brown ’12) hope to simplify the therapist search process for all, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, ability, race, ethnicity, age, class, or religion. Two Japanese characters are translated to the word “zen” in English: 善 means “good” and 全 means “all”. The company name comes from their drive to increase access to inclusive, quality mental health care.
